He needs to get his facts straight. Mississippi is the fattest state, and lifespans are increasing (in spite of obesity). Not getting the simple things right puts a bad light on the whole speech.

@Canoehead. Lifespans may be increasing…. but what about quality of life? With all the complications of the chronic conditions related to obesity…..

He said that last year West Virginia was the fattest state, he was corrrect, this year it is Mississippi, It changes yearly in the race to become the “biggest.”
TED’s a pretty interesting organization and I love this guy’s verve – but really, are we actually expecting a whole new government bureacracy to do the job for us? There’s got to be something a bit more market-based.
